We added a short program on Friday you won't want to miss!!  At 5:00 p.m. before the mixer begins, Jim Koski, local historian and media personality, will remind us of places that existed in the late 50s and 60s. Jim is well known for his informative and humorous walking tours of Marquette.  The mixer follows at 5:30.

Reunion Schedule:

5:00 pm - Presentation by Jim Koski.

5:30 pm - Mixer with hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, a 75th birthday celebration, cash bar, 60s music, and dancing if you want.

6:30 pm - Class picture on the staircase by Ballroom 1.

Saturday - Lakenenland Park Pavilion ( 2800 M-28, about 13 miles east of Marquette)

4:00 pm - Picnic begins.  We'll build a fire to roast hot dogs/brats.  We'll also supply sides and snacks. BYO drinks. Bring your lawn chair, roasting stick and bug spray!

It's not too late to join us at the reunion.  If you can't make it both days, I suggest you come on Friday for JIm's presentation, the mixer and class picture at 6:30.  This is our last traditional reunion so come and get reacquainted with your classmates.  Contact Pat at pnevala47@gmail.com.

Breakfast anyone?

Anyone interested in breakfast on either Friday or Saturday?

Pat

Is anyone in touch with Phil Lillie?  If so, could you make sure he gets the updated reunion information from my last message?

Smaller group, but every bit as much fun as we had at the 50th.   So many stories, music, ( Woolley Bully), hugs and laughter made our reunion a total success.  Thanks to all who helped bring it together.  Definitely worth waiting to see all of you. Hope somehow to continue the fun at picnics and Troll gatherings.  Remember, the chat line is available to all classmates, via general or private messages. Follow Pats email directions to log in.  'til we meet again, Marylyn

Dick Johnson sent a picture of Mrs. Levine's 3rd grade class at Froebel School. Can you identify classmates in this picture?  Hopefully, you don't have the same picture with all the names written on the back :-)

I saw a few I think I recognized but am not sure:  Jim Bergland (back row second from left)?, Penny Chisholm (back row on right)?, Rick Hartwig (4th row, 2nd from left)?, Laura Savitski (4th row, right)?, Bob Thomsen (back row, 2nd from right)?, Connie Youren (1st row, 3rd from right)?, George Voce (front row, 2nd from right)?.  How about some help, especially if I'm wrong?  At least some of the people in the picture were probably at the reunion.  Do you recognize yourself?

07/29/22 09:06 AM #2234

Richard Johnson

I believe that is Dan Smyth next to George Voce.   On the far left is Guy Nankarado and then Eugene Ristimaa.  The second row right end is Jay Olson and then Jim Pearce.  Third row second from the left is Morris Wheeler.  Back row left is Alan Johnson next to Jim Bergland.  Back row next to Bob Thomsen I believe is Bruce Ragusett.  I believe in the second-row center left next to my cousin Tom is Mary Darling.  The photo is from 66 years ago so it is hard to put names and faces together.

No, that is not me ~ I attended Fisher Street School.

Pegi Martindale

Gads, that's a long time ago!  It's me in the 3rd row far right. 4th row far right Phyllis Matt, then Lorna York, then Toni Wareham.  1st row Judy Cain is next to Eugene Ristima, to the left of Connie Youren is Nancy Fletcher, then Judy Winka.

I think I remember someone saying they were on the aircraft carrier that picked one of the Apollo craft.  One of my neighbors just mentioned that he was there for one.  I know my memory is not all it used to be but PLEASE tell me someone was there!!

Karen:  I think it might have been Al Filizetti

My first thought was that it might have been Dennis Betway.

I agree with Stan Al Filizetti

Thanks, folks.  It was Al.  I'll check with my neighbor now to see if it was the same ship.

Hope you all are doing okey dokey.  Sadly I'm starting to see signs of fall which leads to that cold frozen stuff.  So let's all get out and enjoy the colors before it all goes white!  Take care!!

I was Aboard the USS Arlington it was a converted aircraft carrier to a super communication ship we were part of the Apollo eight recovery we provided all the communication from the astronauts to NASA . Also to  phone call from the president when he gave his message to the astronauts of congratulations.  I got out of the Navy shortly after Apollo ate the ship went on to a couple more Apollo recoveries. The ships primary duty was sitting off the coast of Vietnam providing communications for the entire seventh fleet and all the unsure facilities. The ship always stayed in that area around Vietnam and the cruise rotated once a year.

Albert (Chuck) Langlois

Again, Al, thanks for your service.  It was an exciting time.

I was at Johnston Atoll during the Apollo 11 recovery.  President Nixon was there and flew out to the Hornet to meet the astronauts.  After the recovery he toured Johnston Atoll for a meet and greet.  If anyone is interested you can watch this event on You Tube by entering Johnston Atoll Nixon Visit.  I'm in the crowd somewhere.
