Kathy and I met as small children, when our families lived across the street from each other on Bluff Street.  We often went on picnics with the Fulshers to Wetmore's Landing or went fishing together.  I still remember the "woody"" station wagon her family drove.  Sometimes the roads were barely paths down between the trees and that beautiful wood was pretty scratched up.  The seven of us kids always had great picnics. Usually our mothers built beach fires and we enjoyed happy times together.

Kathy and I were at Nestor School together and I remember getting our shots at the school in those days.  We planned a special birthday party for our teacher, Nellie Johnston, bringing her a fruit basket we put together from our kitchens.  Later we would know Mr. (Mickey) Johnston during our high school years. Although Kathy passed away so very young, her family and mine stayed connected.  Our parents remained close enough to visit each other in Arizona and Texas in their retirement years.

To faith, family and friends!
